Apply for scholarship

At the end of each school year, BCMF accepts scholarship applications from high school seniors and college students who demonstrate a passion for the water and an interest in marine biology, limnology, environmental science or similar field of study. Recipients are selected by the BCMF Board of Directors at the beginning of June, and use of scholarship proceeds is entirely discretionary.

The BCMF scholarship is funded generously. For information on a given year's funding amount and availability, please contact us.

To apply for the annual BCMF scholarship, student scholars submit a 500-word essay entitled,
  • The Meaning of Freshwater Conservation; or,
  • Why I Love Lake Sunapee [or similar New England-area river or lake]
Essays may be emailed to info@billycunningham.org. The Board of Directors will review all submissions and respond to all applicants.

Scholarship applications each year are due by June 1 at midnight, EST. Recipients will be notified, and all applicants will be contacted, on or before June 10.
